Tim Miles

A people person with strong technical pedigree. Tim has managed numerous major transmission projects through their lifecycle. Particular focus on Organisational structures, team dynamics, Project Management, Factory testing / Commissioning / Grid Code / System testing.

Tim prides himself on being a highly engaged and driven, empathetic, people centric leader. Throughout his career leading businesses, projects and people, Tim has gained extensive experience building and developing high performance multi-disciplinary teams.

Business and Leadership development is a core focus for Tim and he has invested heavily in developing his skills in this area through many years of membership with Vistage’s V5 CEO group, widely accepted as the premier Leadership development group in the UK, receiving the group’s annual award for ‘personal growth’ in 2023.

In his last post as MD of PSC EU, Tim embedded two acquisitions and developed and implemented major change programs; a Cultural program focusing on the behaviours of high-performance teams, a rhythm of business program that succeeded in re-defining and rightsizing all business interactions across Europe to produce efficiency and improve coordination and communication, a sales program that focused on Sales for Engineers and a Coaching for performance program.

Tim has technical competencies in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, FEED, specification production, procurement, design and design review, Factory Acceptance Testing, Commissioning management & System Testing, Grid Code Compliance, asset strategy, asset management, fault investigation, developing procedures within commissioning, operation and maintenance. These capabilities have been gained and fostered by worked on complex AC transmission and HVDC network developments, many generation projects, CCGT, BESS, Solar, Wind, projects in and around Europe.

He holds National Grid authorisation as Commissioning Panel Chairman (Advanced) under TP141. Tim was part of the project team that delivered the East West Interconnector, CMS & Shetland HVDC, and many other transmission projects and generation development projects.

Tim is an active member of the CIGRE UK Exec Committee.
